Are you a Sophrologist or a Student in Sophrology?
The Sophrology Network Community is growing and our next event on Zoom is approaching! If you are not a member yet, you can attend one of our TSN event for free and then decide if you would like to join our amazing network – just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For this event our next guest is our dear Friend and Master in Sophrology Brigitte Decré-Rinner. Brigitte is one of the five founders of The Sophrology Network. She left London a few years ago to settle in Switzerland. She will present her Sophrologist journey and the psycho-spiritual approach of Jean Monbourquette and how she can now beautifully blend the two approaches. She will present the human psyche according to Jean Monbourquette. Jean Monbourquette wanted to become “médecin des âmes” ( “a soul doctor’), but became a priest familiarising himself with Jung’s work. He has been one of the pioneers linking Christian’s faith, spirituality and psychology as well as a prolific and internationally recognised author of self-development books. Brigitte will also lead a practice to connect to the Self.
How exciting is that! Please do join us!
With best wishes
Florence & Dominique.
More about Master in Sophrology Brigitte Decré-Rinner
I discovered Sophrology in 2000 thanks to a French Sophrologist based in Richmond (UK). It helped me to cope with my busy life as a mother of three young children. Thanks to Sophrology, I also became aware that, although I enjoyed being home looking after my children, I needed a professional activity as well. Not willing to go back to business, my original field, I decided to train as a Sophrologist.
I studied in 2002-2004 at the Académie de Sophrologie Caycédienne de Paris with Dr. Patrick-André Chéné and Dr. Marie-Andrée Auquier. I then trained with Prof Alfonso Caycédo himself in Andorra for my Masters. I received my Master Specialist in Caycedian Sophrology diploma in 2005. I am a member of Sofrocay.
I started practising Sophrology in London in 2004, introducing the technique in English in the UK. I worked with both adults and children, in one-to-one sessions or classes. I moved to Switzerland and settled in Pully in 2017. I regularly teach at the Sophro Academy (Ashford, UK).
I also trained as an MBSR teacher (Level 1, Bangor University) in 2017 in order to better understand the similarities and differences between Sophrology and Mindfulness.
In 2018, I discovered Jean Monbourquette’s approach through a workshop called « Find you own mission ». The teaching method of this Canadian therapist combines psychology and spirituality, which I found fascinating. To gain more tools for my mission, i.e. to guide people on their path to personal growth, I decided to train as a workshop facilitator. I gained my accreditation in January 2021 and I now lead regular workshops, mainly on Self Esteem.
The way I teach Sophrology today, though faithful to Caycedo’s original techniques and values, also builds on these more recent trainings.
